A1 Grant Funding For Fuel Switching
The process of fuel switching is basically changing the primary heating fuel of your home. The primary heating fuel is the fuel that is used to heat your main living area. If your main living area is heated using a gas fire, and you have electric storage heaters in the bedrooms, your home is considered a gas heated home, simply because the main living area in your home is heated using gas. If your main living area uses electric or fuel to heat it, your home will be considered an electrically heated house. If you are currently using electric or coal to heat your main living area, but are changing to a more carbon friendly gas or oil, you are entitled to A1 grant funding.
The A1 grant funding available for heating your home is determined by the type of heating you currently have, and the type of heating you are having installed.
Standard grant funding is available to all privately owned domestic properties.
A higher level of funding is additionally available to customers who fall into the following categories:
1. Aged 70 or above
or …
2. In receipt of one or more of the benefits listed below:
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance
- War Disablement Pension which includes either a Mobility Supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance
- Disablement Pension which includes Constant Attendance Allowance
- Child Tax Credit where the relevant annual income is £16,190 or less
- Working Tax Credit where the relevant annual income is £16,190 or less

Boiler Exchange Scheme
In most circumstances, your new boiler installation can be cheaper if you take advantage of our Boiler Exchange Scheme. This simply involves you allowing us to take your old boiler, for which we'll give you a £400 discount on your new boiler.
Warm Front
If you own your home or rent it from a private landlord, you may be eligible for a grant of up to £3,500 under the Warm Front scheme. If you fit within any of the following three criteria, please contact us to discuss how you can benefit from a Warm Front Grant.
1. Householders aged 60 or over in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Note: if you are over 60 but do not automatically qualify for a Warm Front Grant becuase you do not receive a relevant benefit, you may still be eligible for a £300 rebate on the repair or replacement of an ineffective heating system. Contact us for more information.
2. Householders with a child under 16, or pregnant women with maternity certificate MAT-B1, in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Income Support
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Job Seekers Allowance (income-based)
- Pension Credit
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
3. Householders in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:
- Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040, which must include a disability element)
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £16,040)
- Housing Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- Income Support (which must include a disability premium)
- Council Tax Benefit (which must include a disability premium)
- War Disablement Pension (which must include a mobility supplement or Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (which must include Constant Attendance Allowance)
- Attendance Allowance
